one of my wife's friends helped to send my resume to a big cpa firm. this firm's headquarter locates in shanghai. and my resume was sent to their shenzhen subsidiary. several days later, i received a call from a man, and he asked me to go to their company for an interview. that day was jan 8, 2013. i agreed tomorrow i would go. then he sent me an email to tell how to reach their company. i told the news to my wife immediately and she suggested i should make enough preparation. it's a precious chance. but i don't know what i should do to prepare for the interview. i have no auditing experience. i have no idea about the process of interview. so just had my hair cut and made myself look well. that's the only thing i was able to do. on the morning of jan 9, i wore my best suit and went to the cpa firm. their office locates near the shennan road of shenzhen. i found their office on 12:30 and the interview time was 14:00. so i had lunch and went to the hall of a bank beneath their office. i sat in the quiet hall for a rest. but my brain could stop thinking. i began to consider what would happen if i worked in this cpa firm. it was really ridiculous! but i just couldn't push out of those foolish ideas from my brains. on 14:00 the interview began officially. i felt tired since i didn't have a good rest at all. firstly, one boy gave me a piece of paper and required me to finish within 20 minutes. it was about logical test. most of the questions are a piece of cake. but few of them troubled me. finally i finished the paper and wanted to review. then the boy came to collect the paper and gave me another paper, which was about professional test. all the questions were written in english, and they were about financial analysis and auditing. i didn't think they were difficult. honestly speaking, the test is not necessary at all for a guy who just passed cpa comprehensive test. i was exhausted when the boy announced the test was over one hour later. another boy gave me some document and asked me to fill in. he took me to a meeting room and reminded me to fill swiftly because soon someone would talk with me. later this boy gave me a cup of water. i said thanks sincerely since i was extremely thirsty after finishing 2 tests. when i was writing in a hurry, a man came in. he was a senior manager and began to talk with me. minutes later a woman joined the talk. and she was a partner. here i have to mention one detail about the chat. the partner told me she would worry if i would feel comfortable when working overtime till 3:00 or 4:00 am with other young colleagues (she refers to new graduates, and i am 32 years old). i was shocked and answered reluctantly that if occasional, i would accept; if often, i couldn't bear. actually speaking, even if occasionally, i couldn't accept too. health is priceless. i doubted the partner had made her decision at this moment. later they tested my oral english. i talked in english freely. but this couldn’t reverse the result of interview. the talk didn't last long. half an hour later, they left the room and told me their hr staff would notice me about the result. but i still failed to get any notice until now (10 days have passed). perhaps i won't get notice forever. but that's not important. that job doesn't suit me. i will reject firmly even if they require me to join them.
